Introducing my new baby - SCDelish

Hi everyone,
Some of you have traveled with me on my health journey for the past two years, others of you I’ve met only recently.  I guess you’d all realise by now that I LOVE SCD.  I am so pleased I found the Specific Carbohydrate Diet online after doing some Google searching about natural treatments for Crohn’s Disease.  I’d just been diagnosed after a horrible flare that left me very ill.  I thought there MUST be something natural I could do instead of take all of the drugs that were being offered to me.  I’m so glad I found SCD and read testimonials of other people’s success using this diet.  I decided to give it a try; it surely couldn’t hurt.

Looking back, I realise I didn’t do a very good job of starting SCD.  I didn’t completely understand what I could and couldn’t eat, so I sometimes made mistakes.  Thankfully, I very quickly got results.  My tummy settled down in the first couple of days on the Intro Diet and I was motivated to continue.  After 6 weeks on SCD my GP was astounded that my blood tests were almost perfect.  Six weeks later, they were completely perfect and that’s where they’ve stayed for almost 2 years now.  For me, SCD controls my Crohn’s symptoms without the use of medication.

Now I’m in the best health I’ve ever been.   I have so much energy that after working full time and taking care of my hubby and three teenagers,  I have time to create SCD recipes, blog as ‘An Aussie With Crohns’ and now create SCDelish, a website full of delicious SCD legal food from bloggers around the world.

The idea for SCDelish came when I was looking at other food gallery sites like Foodgawker.  My thought was, ‘Imagine if there was a site like this for SCDers, with only food that we could eat.  Wouldn’t that be wonderful!  We could look through and see what looks good for dinner, without seeing food we don’t eat.’
So SCDelish was born.  I’ve had great fun setting up the site with Word Press (a bit of a learning curve compared to Blogger).  My favourite part of the process, though, has been meeting other bloggers from around the world. I’ve loved reading such amazing recipes as I added them to the site. I thought there would be heaps of people blogging their SCD recipes, but actually there aren’t.  We really need more!  So I’m encouraging everyone who eats following the Specific Carbohydrate Diet guidelines to jot down their recipe creations, take a photo and submit it to SCDelish.  I hope it will be an invaluable resource for new and experienced SCDers everywhere.

Click logo to visit SCDelish. :)
So I’d love it if you’d visit www.SCDelish.com and have a look.  SCD recipes are healthy for everyone so I hope you’ll connect via Facebook, Twitter and Google + .  I’m looking forward to sharing many delicious recipes with you.

Xx Deb
