I’m really excited to start!
I know sugar is a big problem for me.
Even though I don’t use table sugar, I have a problem with limiting my
amounts of sweet treats (as you can probably tell from my recipes!) I know my body works best (and I FEEL best)
when I only have a minimal amount of sweet things, including fruit.
My problem is I truly just CAN’T stop at one sweet treat! Something in my body takes over and my
willpower flies out the window! I know
many of you can relate!
Anyway, I’m taking the 21 Day Sugar Detox to see if I can get
things back on track (and hopefully lose a few kilos!)
I’ll let you know how I go. (Pretty big accountability
here! It can only help!)
Here
is some more information about the program:
About the
author: Diane Sanfilippo BS, Certified Nutrition Consultant, C.H.E.K. Holistic Lifestyle Coach. Diane is a New Jersey-based Holistic & Paleo Nutritionist and author of the 21-week New York Times Bestselling book “Practical Paleo: A Customized Approach to Health and a Whole-Foods Lifestyle.”
The program comes as easy to buy,
downloadable PDFs to read on any device.
The cost is $21 AUD.
It includes 7 downloads: a 90 page 21DSD
guide, FAQ, Smoothies, Supplements, Yoga, Workouts & Pregnancy/Breast
Feeding/Kids.
The program itself is easy to read and understand. It gives 3 different levels to start at, depending
on where your eating and activity levels are at the moment. I liked the way there was a starting point
that would suit everyone and it’s not too daunting. A three week limit seems achievable, too.
In the program there are links to great
articles about sugar and health. Very
convincing that sugar is just not good for us.
There is a detailed section explaining what
sugar does to our bodies and fabulously clear lists of which sweeteners and
oils are best. (Loved that!)
The program is explained in detail and gives
clear Yes/No/Limit food lists to follow.
(Really liked these!)
There are modifications for athletes,
pregnant & breastfeeding, vegetarians & vegans.
Included are lots of recipes for meals and
snacks. Some things I’m looking forward
to trying are spaghetti squash and making noodles from zucchinis. :)
There are also recipes for mayonnaise, herb
rubs and dressings to add taste and variety.
Amazingly, there are even recipes for some
sweets without the sweetener, including chocolate! (Not for SCDers). I’m looking forward to trying those.
Also included in the price are daily
support emails that include:
- Inspiration for each day of the detox - some clues on what you may be feeling and a helpful boost to keep you going
- Meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack
- A 21DSD-friendly recipe of the day
- Detox video diaries - follow Jessica through the detox and compare results with her
Helpful links -
posts from others going through the detox, extra help if you're feeling under
the weather, cranky, or need more willpower
There’s also a Facebook support page and lots of information and
recipes on Pinterest.
So, I’m really pleased with my purchase and
am very motivated to detox!
