I am so well. :) I just received my latest blood test results and all are excellent. My GP is very thorough and tested everything - liver and kidney function, thyroid, Vit D, Vit B12 and iron and probably some others I can't remember. Everything is perfect. :) She said I don't have to have my blood tested for 12 months.
It's been around 18 months since I started SCD and I'm so pleased I did. I remember after I was first diagnosed, searching the internet to try and find a natural alternative to the drugs my GI wanted me to take for my Crohn's Disease. First of all I went vegan for a couple of weeks, but it really didn't suit me. I lost more weight and felt even more exhausted. As soon as I started SCD, though, I could tell it suited me. Very quickly my tummy settled down and I started to feel better. I remember being so sceptical that it would actually work. My GI discouraged me from trying SCD, saying if I didn't get started on the drugs then I would get scarring which would lead to more problems.
Well, I can say I don't have any scarring. My Crohn's is in remission and I'm thrilled.
I LOVE SCD. :)
Hi, I was recently diagnosed with Crohns and started the SCD diet and have been on it for about 10-12 weeks. I had my blood test & calprotein levels tested after 8 weeks on the diet and the results were amazing - normal for everything. For the last couple of days some of the symptoms have started to re-appear - diarrhea, without changing my diet. I had eaten a couple of squares of dark chocolate, introduced some hard cheeses now and then but nothing that radical. What is the advise in this situation? continue with the diet or do i need to go back to the 'begginning' and start the elimination diet again?
